Six to Start

Founded in 2007, Six to Start is an independent games developer and entertainment company based in London. We’ve created games and apps for companies like the BBC, Channel 4, Penguin Books, eBay, and Muse; and we’ve conducted research and development for Disney Imagineering, CBS Interactive, Microsoft, and the British Museum.

Since 2011, Six to Start has focused on developing original smartphone games including Zombies, Run! and The Walk (co-created with Naomi Alderman)

Aula

We started Aula as students at the University of Oxford. Inspired by the way in which educators and students use communication tools such as WhatsApp and Slack, Aula replaces emails and clunky learning management systems with a single platform designed to encourage interaction and engagement.

We developed the platform by conducting more than 230 pilot classes across 30 institutions that ranged from small workshops at MIT to large physics classes at Imperial College London.

We launched the institutional version of Aula in September 2017 and are currently working with institutions such as Ravensbourne University London, the University of Coventry, and Birmingham City University.

Wave

Wave’s mission is to make sending money to Africa as easy and affordable as sending a text. It all began in 2014 when Drew, one of our founders, got fed up going to a store and paying over 10% to send money for an NGO he was running in Tanzania.

So, he teamed up with Lincoln to build Wave, an app that let users send money instantly from their smartphone to their recipient’s mobile money account in Kenya.

Three years later, we’re in 5 African nations. The rest of Africa is next! ❤️
