The Role

  • Design and develop software that compels people to engage with media.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain an easy-to-use, powerful web application.
  • Craft elegant solutions to challenging problems and actively look for ways to improve Uniregistry’s codebase.

Must Have:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 8  years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience with Relational Database Systems and SQL.
  • Strong experience with HTML, CS, Javascript (ES6).
  • Comfortable with version control system (GIT).
  • Knowledge and understanding of technologies such as DNS, email, monitoring, information security and load balancing.
  • Personal ownership of assignments and responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of core back-end technologies: Node.js or Python; REST APIs; and distributed architectures.
  • Working knowledge of domain registry / registrar data protocols and extensions (XML / EPP) is a bonus.

Swift Engineer

We’re looking for talented Swift engineers to partner with amazing product companies to work as part of a team on iOS apps. We regularly partner with Y Combinator funded product companies that place a high value on engineering. Strong communication and documentation skills are needed as this is a fast paced engineering environment. At least 1 year of production Swift experience is required (React Native experience a huge plus).
Contract lengths vary depending on the project, but range from 1 to 3 months (some last as long as 6 months). We also have contract to hire roles available, where after a short contract the company hires you full time remotely. The majority of our clients are in the San Francisco area so the closer to that timezone the better. You must be living in North America, South America or Europe.

Senior Software Engineer

Senior Lead Frontend Developer

The Lead Frontend Developer will be responsible for all frontend developmental aspects of our main application which is used by thousands of e-commerce sites daily (see www.consistentcart.com).

Consistent Cart is an application which recovers abandoned shopping carts for eCommerce stores. What does this mean? Well, say you’re a shopper who’s looking for a new watch. You are on your phone shopping around when you add a new timepiece to a cart on an online store. At that moment, you realize that you left your wallet in your car. As you’re already in bed for the night, you close out of the store. This is where Consistent Cart comes in. You then receive an email that is a reminder to purchase the watch – then a message directly through Facebook messenger the next day when it’s a more convenient time to check out. Front End Software Engineer

You’ll join a growing team of designers, developers and strategists to help politically progressive campaigns, organizations and nonprofits succeed in an increasingly digital world. You’ll do interesting work for clients who are making the world a more progressive, safer and tolerant place.

You:

  • Strong grasp of semantic markup and accessibility standards
  • Build responsive websites that look great and function properly on all devices
  • Ability to work independently on a project, or on a team with multiple developers
  • Strong attention to detail in order to achieve both the client’s and the designer’s vision
  • Enjoy learning from your team, and comfortable both giving and receiving feedback
  • Passion for sharing knowledge and desire to improve our team’s processes and tools
  • Capacity to work remotely while remaining on task
  • Experience with CSS and SVG animation
  • Willing to share links to some of your best code samples and can speak in detail about decisions made to achieve the desired result

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a distributed team to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Develop websites independently or as part of a team in a modular and mobile first fashion.
  • Primarily work with the WordPress CMS using gulp as your task runner and SCSS for preprocessing.
  • Secondarily work with next-gen frameworks and compilers to build headless and hybrid websites.
  • Communicate clearly with project liaisons, teammates and clients.
  • Work closely with interaction and web designers to adhere to design specs.
  • Optimize code and images for performance.

Requirements:

  • Strong WordPress CMS knowledge
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Thorough knowledge of Javascript, independent of JS frameworks
  • Understanding of modular class structures and ability to write DRY code
  • Passion for sharing knowledge and desire to improve our team’s processes and tools
  • Comfortable using Git, and experience working in a repository with multiple developers
  • You have found a creative way to include the phrase Vive la révolution in your cover letter
  • Experience with CSS and SVG animation

Preferred but not required:

  • Advanced knowledge of SCSS
  • Experience working on Pantheon’s hosting platform
  • Familiarity with task runners like gulp and grunt
  • JS frameworks (Angular, React, Express, etc.)
  • Ruby & Ruby on Rails
  • Middleman/Jekyll
  • Drupal
  • WordPress Plugin Authoring
  • Experience using Post-CSS
