JOB DESCRIPTION

The Red Hat Performance and Scale team is looking for a Software engineer with experience with and interest in Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will contribute generally to the performance characterization, analysis, and optimization of Red Hat OpenStack Platform and the upstream OpenStack project. You’ll be a part of a distributed group, so you’ll need to be able to work well with remote team members. As a Software Engineer, you’ll need to be interested in innovative software and open source.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Help evaluate and improve the performance of Red Hat OpenStack Platform software
  • Use and shape open source tools to monitor performance
  • Contribute to the performance of Red Hat OpenStack Platform solutions running in large-scale environments

Required Skills
  • Experience with several programming languages like C, Java, or Ruby; Python or Go experience is a big plus
  • Interest in open source software development
  • Eye for good architecture and the ability to develop new architectures
  • Understanding of cloud computing and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS)
  • Focus on test-driven development; good knowledge of testing frameworks and methodologies
