The Operations team at Close.io oversees the areas of Finance, Legal, and People Ops/HR. You’ll be responsible for the Finance and Business aspects of our operations and report directly to the co-founder and COO.
While our Operations team is small (just 2 at the moment!) we’re looking for someone who enjoys taking broad responsibilities across the company.
Founded in 2013 we are cashflow positive with no venture funding.  We are a fully remote team of ~32 people spanning across 11 states and 13 countries.

Ownership & Responsibility

  • Company-wide budgets, projections, and updates
  • Accounts receivableEmployee expenses, payroll and reimbursement
  • Mail correspondence via virtual mailing system
  • Business insurance and workers compensation
  • City, State, and Federal point of contact for things such as registration, licenses, taxes, surveys, etc.

Content Creator / Coordinator

We’re looking to onboard our very first Content Creator to help us launch our content platform (fancy word for ‘blog’). Our goal is to help product managers and designers get better at what they do by sharing candid stories of how others work behind the scenes.
You will source and produce interviews of inspiring ‘makers’ and create short, actionable content pieces to help product managers up-skill. The great thing is: you will have access to our community of thousands of passionate makers to source this content.
  • This is a freelancer role with no fixed amount of hours. You decide how much time you want to invest to achieve the results expected from you.
  • You get remunerated per article / piece you produce
  • If things go well, we will consider paying a monthly retainer

Responsibilities

  • Source interviews with up and coming product managers and designers. We will provide a target list, but you will also need to find and outreach to relevant people.
  • Create a list of interesting questions for each interviewee

Freelance Blog Writer

The Role:
  • You’ll be writing for our blog (x-team.com/blog; soon to be upgraded), covering the happenings in the X-Team community. Topics will range from tech, development, travel, gaming, tech, movies, fitness, photography, music, mental health.
  • As you become acquainted with and become an active member of our community, you’ll be responsible to come up with story ideas, a content calendar, and interview various members of our community and operations team to develop new blog posts. It’ll be a mix of ghost writing as well as your own posts.
  • You’ll gather and prepare visual assets (images, videos, GIFs, etc.) for each post, so any editing skills are useful here.
  • You’ll report to the Head of Marketing and work collaboratively.

The Pay:

Compensation is competitive and will be determined based on a combination of experience and cost-of-living in the region you live in (for some context: for qualified applicants, this position in New York City will pay between approximately $72,000 and $80,000).
