Content Marketing Specialist

Your quill is sharp, and your wit is sharper. You write for a living, but more importantly you can’t stop writing.  And you’re dang proud of your work, because you put your heart into it like Poe puts heart underneath floorboards.
As much as you like writing, however, you know that what you really want to do is influence.  Your passion is a tool to change minds, change communities, change the world. You look at billboards and headlines and wonder, “what if they said it this way instead?”
Your talent has grown as you’ve taken on a few different roles, and now you’re armed not just with pen but with a military-grade scope, because you know how to target your message to the right audience–and the right audience to your message.  You love seeing tangible results from your work, and if you don’t, you recraft, experiment, and try again until you see the change you wanted.
We’re looking for a content marketer with that kind of drive to be the wise-yet-booming voice of Myagi.  In an age where stores and brands everywhere are losing business in droves, the solution is thus: to gain back trust of consumers not by lowering costs, but by elevating their shopping experience through turning employees into talented and confident experts.  It’s a change that’s good for more than business–it’s good for humanity.

Responsibilities

Owning Myagi’s voice – you’re the editor-in-chief, and we defer to your expertise to make sure all content is on-brand
Working alongside the Demand Gen team to create content in various forms, such as:
  • Dynamic ads
  • Case studies
  • Ebooks
  • Infographics
  • Pop-up pages
  • Guest posts
  • Landing pages
  • Sales emails & automated drip messaging
  • In-app messages
  • Customizable video scripts/shoot ideas
  • & more! Taking part ownership in Inbound Marketing by being the creator and distributor of things like:
  • Public releases to various media outlets
  • Homepage/website content + experiments
  • Industry-specific educational campaigns to drive inbound signups
  • Expanding upon & utilizing this influencer marketing network doc
Aiding the Network Growth team to generate:
  • Customer spotlights & success stories
  • Email drips to emotionally drive people to sign up
  • Product roundups (monthly email)
  • Product-related mass emails/in-app messages (possibly)
Requirements

You have superb writing skills when targeting a retail audience, including:

  • The ability to narrow voice to address different brands, retailers, sales reps and consumers
  • A sure-fire “formula” for your own writing style – and why you’ve chosen it
  • A knack for surprising the unsurprisable, simplifying the complex, and making onions cry
You have strong knowledge of content distribution through various marketing channels
  • Social media, blog, newsletter, & the ability to find creative ways to implement more channels of distribution
You have an eye for what design complements your work and can keep on-brand when you craft your own imagery
  • Useful for dynamic ads, case studies, ebooks, infographics, pop-up pages, landing pages – most of the time working with pre-designed templates that might need minor customization in design tools like Photoshop & Indesign
You’ve worked in a marketing role for the last 3 years, and writing was your main responsibility
Good-to-haves:
  • Experience writing for different cultures – we have presence in over 20 countries and manage 5 languages! We can translate, but being aware of cultural nuances is really important
  • An understanding of (and interest in) the business side of retail, especially the connection between brand and retailer
  • A strong opinion on Color-based personality tests like your great aunt shares on Facebook
What it’s like to work with us
Myagi is made up of awesome people from all over the world – we collaborate, challenge and have fun. Myagi values work-life balance and flexibility – we have trust in our team, so as long you give us your best work, we don’t care where you are or what time you do it. We support professional and personal development and promise to provide as many opportunities to help your career grow as our company grows. Overall, we’re focused on maintaining a culture that people feel proud to be a part of and stay for a while.
A few of the perks
People – We employ real humans to do real brain work – we value the intellectual tussle that comes with good engineering and thus, you’ll work with some incredible people

Money – Competitive Compensation including Employee Stock Ownership options & annual salary review

Head of Growth

For nearly five years Baremetrics has relied almost exclusively on a single channel for growth: content marketing. It was a natural outpouring of us targeting “founders” mixed with our founder and his background with publishing. It was easy and in the early days, it worked well, bringing us to where we are today.
But these aren’t early days anymore. We’re a profitable, five year old company doing over $1M in revenue. We’re “old” in startup years and intend to get even older. While we’re not a brand new company anymore, our growth methodologies and systems are still in their infancy.
We’re looking for someone who can come in and own “growth” at our company. Someone who loves experimenting and trying new things, but someone who also really genuinely cares about customers and never wants to leave a bad taste in their mouth.
We’re not looking for a #growthhacker. This isn’t about trying random dark pattern tactics to drive surges in unqualified signups. This is about laying the foundation for the next 10+ years of growth. We don’t have millions in VC funding driving growth at all cost. We’re building a sustainable, long term company that our customers love and our team loves working for.
You don’t have to have the most experience, but you do have to love learning and love trying new things.

About Baremetrics

Baremetrics is a business analytics & insights company. We provide the tools and data businesses need to make solid business decisions.
Founded in 2013, we’re working hard to help businesses spend less time crunching numbers and looking at spreadsheets and instead give them instant access to metrics and business insights that they need to run their businesses.
We’re not some flash-in-the-pan startup…we’re five years old, profitable, doing over $1M in revenue and growing. Nearly 1,000 business from all over the world trust us to help them grow their businesses.
We’re looking for folks who like to solve problems and build a business and product that people genuinely love to interact with.
Read about working at Baremetrics: https://baremetrics.com/jobs

REQUIREMENTS

The primary role of this job will be to figure out what knobs need to be turned to help Baremetrics grow…whatever form or whatever channel that may take.
You don’t need to have experience with any particular software or marketings stacks. We’re not tied to tools, only outcomes.
The only real requirement here is an affinity for experimenting with growth and marketing channels.
You’ll spend all your time trying new channels, figuring out which works best for us, scaling them and then monitoring and adjusting as needed.
Functionally you’ll likely do a lot of the following…
  • Product demos
  • Sales calls
  • A/B testing
  • Email marketing
  • PPC campaigns
  • Social media marketing
  • Outbound & inbound marketing
But ultimately the work you’ll do comes down to the channels you find work best for increasing revenue growth.
BENEFITS
  • Work from anywhere (we’re 100% remote)
  • Minimum vacation policy
  • Competitive salary ($60,000 base + $36,000 variable)
  • Profit sharing
  • Flexible work hours
  • Full health, vision & dental insurance for you and your family
  • Annual company meetups
  • Kindle Paperwhite + Unlimited Books
  • Monthly “remote stipend” that you can use for anything

Legal Operations Wrangler

We are seeking talented wrangler of contracts, shares of stock, and the myriad details that we need to mind to keep the Automattic legal machine humming along.
As our first contracts and stock administrator, you will be part of a small legal team responsible for supporting all of Automattic’s growth. This is the ideal role for a candidate looking to expand beyond what is on offer in a traditional legal ops or paralegal position at a more moribund company. You’ll help invent processes and build systems from the ground up, not just run a dusty old machine built by someone else in the 1990s.
Some of your responsibilities will include: impeccably managing our cap table in Shareworks, helping to wrangle our flow of inbound agreements of all types as we build out our contract database, and contributing to quarterly investor reporting and annual audits. Everything at Automattic is done on a global scale and in an international context, and you will frequently be managing projects in non-US jurisdictions.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
  • Have experience as an in-house stock admin or paralegal in a lean, fast-growing, fast-paced software, internet, or creative startup, large private company or at an investment fund.
  • Have exceptional interpersonal skills, including outstanding verbal and written skills in English.
  • Possess an agile and curious mind. You’re not afraid to ask questions or admit when you are wrong.
  • Have a healthy sense of humor, and an abiding spirit of idealism about your chosen profession.
  • Have a passion for elegant, simple, automated solutions that keep operations running smoothly, and an ability to see opportunities for process improvement and the initiative to move forward with action.
  • Thrive in a tech-centered, developer-focused environment, and are adept at collaborating with engineers and understanding technical and product details.
  • Love a dynamic, fast-growing environment.
  • Prefer operating very independently, and are highly motivated to learn new things and improve your skills, and enjoy juggling an array of tasks.
  • Are collaborative, and enjoy working with teams such as Engineering, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Excel at understanding complex topics and explaining them to others in clear, concise, terms.
Bonus points if you have experience working on a distributed team, WordPress, software development, coding, or open source
